Institute of Personnel Management , Bangladesh is the only apex body of the Human Resources Management (HRM) professionals in Bangladesh , established in 1980. It was registered as a non-profitable professional association with Joint Stock Companies & Firms, Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of Bangladesh under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 bearing Registration No. S-1353(37)/90.
It is affiliated with UK based Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). It is also member of Asian Pacific Federation for Human Resource Management, Hong Kong and World Federation for Human Resource Management Associations, USA. |

Vision
To build up capable management professionals and institutional leaders for proactive human resource development and to serve for the interest of the nation.
Mission
To promote, develop and regulate the profession of Human Resources Management and other allied fields related thereto and to impart training and education for professional competence by maintaining highest professional standard for contributing to establishment of corporate HR practices in all kinds of organizations for good governance and organizational success.
Prime objectives
- To organize all persons engaged in or interested in or connected with Human Resource Management, offer membership, establish, maintain and develop fellowship amongst the members;
- To confer professional degree, diploma and training in HR Management and other allied fields connected with the HR Management;
- To arrange research activities for continuous professional education and development in HR and allied fields for maintaining highest professional standard.

- The management of the Institute is vested with the Executive Council with absolute executive powers to manage and control all the affairs of the Institute.
- The Executive Council is elected by the members in every two years. The President is the constitutional head of the Institute while the Secretary General is the executive head.
- There are standing committees and some other sub-committees for assisting Executive Council in its functions.
- The academic affairs are looking after by the Director of Studies under the control and guidance of the Executive Council.
The Institute confers professional membership upon persons who qualify in its prescribed examination with requisite experience as per the constitution. On admission Associate, Member and Fellow are entitled to use the designatory letters AIPM, MIPM and FIPM respectively after their name. |
